Program Development

We plan and develop new programs, provide technical assistance for new and existing training programs.   We specialize in curricula development for youths and adult learners.  Some of our projects are listed below:

·       Developed entrepreneurial training and development programs for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) which won a national award for its model.

·       Developed and supervised youth summer programs that met state standards for over 1,000 youth in Harris County.

·       Developed and implemented the Houston Independent School District Family Literacy programs adult literacy component (GED, ESL, Computer and Parent/Child training)—focusing on adult literacy and student achievement.

·       Developed and implemented a comprehensive parent literacy program for the Houston Independent School District through the Reading Department at 93 elementary schools.

·       Developed and planned for the Small Business Development Institute at the Houston Community College.

·       Developed training materials and provided instruction for the University of Houston Small Business Development Center Entrepreneurial Training programs.

·       Developed the business support program for URS Washington Division in contract with Houston METRO to meet federal standards for small and disadvantaged businesses.

·       Developed programs and techniques for finding and orienting SBEs and DBEs for inclusion in the Houston METRO SBE/DBE pool of contractors ready, willing, and able to participate in the rail expansion project.

 

Training

Accent on Education, Inc. has provided instruction for the University of Houston Small Business Development Center, HoustonWorks, Houston Independent School District, URS Washington Division, DeVry University, US Small Business Administration, and others.  Some of our projects have enabled us to provide the services listed.

·       Developed training programs and provided Business Plan Development assistance to Houston METRO SBE and DBE contractors to satisfy federal compliance standards.

·       Provided business development training for Harris County Community Development Department.

·       Provided business development training for the City of Pasadena Community Development Department.

·       Provided training and development programs for Choice Hotels based on annual employee surveys and evaluations.

 

Research and Evaluation

We have conducted research and evaluation services for public and private entities.

·       Conducted research and analysis for the Houston ISD as a subcontractor with ESP Solutions to develop the Five-Year Strategic Plan for Technology.

·       Conducted research and summary evaluation as a subcontractor with Region IV Service Center to evaluate the high school on-line training programs throughout   the State of Texas.

·       Provided program audit services for the Houston Housing Authority City of Houston Senior Development Centers.

Limited-Time Tuition-Paid Primavera Training*

There are currently no training slots available for Primavera 6 Project Management.  Please check back in February 2010 for available tuition-paid training opportunities. 

The training is provided through grants held by our company.  Classes are offered at the Nevoda Star LLC (a SAR Associates Company) Houston training location—11211 Katy Freeway, Suite 270, Houston, Texas 77079.    Classes are held Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 8:30 to 4:30.  New training schedules will be announced on our site when they become available. 

Course Description:   Hands-on P6 training and scheduling in Primavera P6.   Participants gain a thorough background in the concepts of planning and scheduling.   Scheduling techniques are converted.   The course leads you through workshops that create and track an entire project to completion.   All workshops and instruction use the three basic elements of project management:   schedule, resource, and costs.

Registration Requirements:   Applicants must complete a funder's application, submit an i-9 form with supporting documents and be pre-approved by the funding agency prior to enrollment in any classes.   Funds are intended for employed project managers working in the Gulf Coast Region of The Texas Workforce Commission service area.   To receive an application and/or additional information about the tuition-paid training programs, please contact us at 713-528-6557 or send an e-mail to info@aoe-inc.com.

 

*Nevoda Star Cancellation, Reschedule, and No Show Policy:

A company, organization, or individual may cancel or reschedule a course without penalty by giving written notice (fax or email) at least 10 business days prior to the scheduled start date of the course.   If a company, organization, or individual cancels or reschedules less than 10 business days of the start date of the course, the company, organization, or individual will still be assessed 100% of the course fee.
